American How-to is looking to build a new site that's focused on how-to for hobbies. The audience for this site isn't particularly web-savvy and may still be using a dial up isp. The design and navigation should be straightforward and easy enough to be understood by your mother, father or even your grandfather. Functionality will enable him or her to upload images of a project, become a member of the page and receive daily newsletters of content, read blogposts about projects being created by other members, ask questions she or he may have about a project, read clearly formatted how-to instructions and watch how-to videos (embedded from other sites). You can look at sites such as [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] for similar combination of functionalities. Since the sites target audience includes people on slow connections, it probably makes sense to avoid javascript, Flash or any other heavy code. We're open to consider the best host for the job, and would like the developer to install and configure the application on the host. If you're only able to work on the graphic design or the back-end development, yet have successfully completed similar projects we're interested in hearing from you. We're planning to complete this project within the next four months. Experience creating sites with similar functionality is important for serious consideration. Please include links to similar, previous builds.
## Deliverables
See the attached file for a detailed list of elements.
## Platform
The application must be browser-compatible for all popular browsers in current use. The design of the site must be Section 508-compliant to allow disabled users to access the site effectively.
