Build a photography website

-Overview of the project- Create a landing page and 4 sub-sections of the website (in descending order of importance): - Weddings & Engagements - Events & Parties - Commercial & Branding - Portraits & Headshots Create the base style/look, then repeat across 4 sub-sections, with tweaking in accent colours and content to suit the differing target audiences. -Some of the skills and talents required in our designer- Exceptional graphic design skills – we’re competing against some of the world’s best image creators, so we exist in an extremely competitive market, loaded with beautiful content. We are judged on our ability to do our job…. by the website, so anything less than amazing graphic design will hurt us. Experience with wedding websites (preferably wedding photography specifically), to understand our biggest income source and target market (27 to 35yo brides). Solid understanding of good SEO practice. Whilst SEO is an ongoing effort, laying the foundations in the basic website is the most important step. Exceptional English skills – preferably your first language so that you understand context, not just the words. Not just for SEO, but also for written content. We've always written our own, but after looking at other photographer's websites, it looks like we don't blow our own trumpet enough, so some outside influence on the written content is needed. Good, clean coding and design practices– we’re sick of having to throw away design a couple of years later, because it was built on a chaotic mess and is too hard to build on. -Key requirements of the website- Look ridiculously beautiful. Strong focus on conversions, and visitors making contact via phone or contact form. Goes without saying, if it doesn’t work flawlessly on mobiles, we’re dead in the water. Images are the backbone of the website, so speed is important. Ability to convey lots of info without looking cluttered – clean and minimal are a strong focus. Our existing website uses the $200 ProPhoto theme for wordpress. It only has the wedding section, and not a landing page or the other 3 sub-sections of the site. Part of the mobile site's menu is missing, it's looking dated, and it doesn't focus on conversions. There's lots of images on content we'd like to rescue and re-use. We're thinking a complete ground up redesign so it's consistent, but are still interested in hearing if someone can re-use the Pro-photo license to keep the overall cost down. Our biggest mistake is we're photographers, and we somehow think that makes us graphic and web designers. The feedback from past clients on our work is stellar, but we're just not conveying our skills to new clients like the best in the industry do.... that has to end today, or we end tomorrow.
