Copy / rebuild a server in AWS

We have lost our key pair for our AWS EC2 instance and we cannot putty into the instance any more. We need to either recreate and reassign another pair or copy the server and start with a new instance. On a slightly different issue, We also need to know how to restore the instance from a snapshot. The person accepted for this project will also have ongoing work related to AWS
