An Applescript or a small mac application for renaming .jpg files of a selected folder OR selected files within a folder using EXIF data in the following way:
Using an example, if the EXIF "Date Time Original" field is 2012:04:21 02:54:23 for file [login to view URL] then rename to 025423_DSC_0015.JPG.
So for a folder or selected files within a folder the the hours, minutes and seconds component of the "Date Time Original" EXIF field needs to be extracted, the colon needs to be removed and then append "_" + original name to rename each file.
If someone proposes a mac application for this task then the EXIF field for the "Date Time Original" data must be a preference. In other words, if "Date Time Original" is not the name of the meta field containing required date then I must be able to select another field.
Hi, it's possible to develop an AppleScript or also a droplet (you will just drag your folder or files on the script icon to have them renamed). Also a Cocoa application is possible, but it will have a different cost. Kind regards, Mike
Hello,
I'm a full time Mac OS X Developer and have been for over 12 years.
I have many applications in use daily on over 300 user's Macs and several servers on 3 different continents for my current employers. I appreciate the need for app stability and reliability.
I have extensive knowledge of using exif data and image manipulation with AppleScript. I'm confident I can accomplish what you require.
I estimate that this will take around 4 hours to do @ $40/hr.
Regards,
Simon
Hey Selby. I can certainly build this app for you and customize it as you see fit. I've built apps like this accessing EXIF data in the past for larger consumer groups. Let me know if you're interested and I can have this ready for you in no time. Please check your PM too.
