I have a VERY simple android app here, that needs a slight modification.
It has one screen where you enter text in a box, press enter and it searches an SQLite database on the SD Card, then displays the result. This was originally created for Android 1.5, it doesn't seem to be able to access the database on a Samsung galaxy S3. The database is up to 200MB in size, but still works fine on Android 1.5.
The modifications are as follows:
- Instead of being hard coded to read from only one database (/sdcard/[url removed, login to view]), I'd like an options screen to be able to select any database in the root of the SD card. This obviously involves figuring out why it's not reading the databases on the latest Android version, maybe a permission change?
- At the moment, the app is set to landscape mode permanently, I'd like it to sense the phones orientation and change automatically like most apps do.
- Even better would be to load the database after selecting it, into the phones RAM so it's faster if that's possible.
I have the full eclipse source code package, so this should be a very simple job for an Android developer....
