Digital Archiving Solution / Document management system

We are looking for a server based solution for archiving all our old paper files and future ones. We have a lot of old paperwork which we will scan for archiving - The system should be integrated with Scanner's drivers (HP 8390) so that the documents can be scanned from within the software. Solution should be accessible on company network (around 15 computers connected to a server ??" we will keep a separate storage server for this). I would prefer a ready made solution rather than a customized one ??" so even if an off the shelf product you can still bid for advice/consultation. Here are a few basic requirements: 1. Should be able to store all types of files ??" media (mpeg, wmv), documents (doc, pdf), etc. 2. Should have folder access rights, group rights, etc. to 2 to 3 levels (meaning, there should be sub folders and file level rights also). 3. There should be a way to assign “ownership?? of folders to individuals 4. full-text search and retrieval system - search queries can be conducted using Boolean, natural language (concept), and pattern matching (fuzzy logic) methodologies. 5. Audit trail ??" the administrator and individuals should be able to see who has accessed which documents by their login ID. Suggested: Very clear documentation should be available with the solution (set up, operations and instructions manual, best practices, process/procedure commonly followed, etc.) Most of our docs are official documents with signature, etc. ??" which may not be read properly with OCR, so please keep this in mind. But say 10% of our documents are regular documents which we would prefer to file through OCR. I think the scanner's software should be able to do this but any suggestions are welcome. ## Deliverables application with our without source code.
