With over 100 local authorities (Cities and Towns) using it, PlaySafe has become the leading SQL Server database application for managing children’s playgrounds and their paperless inspections in the United Kingdom. Please see [[login to view URL]][1] to get a feel for its depth of functionality. The source code represents several man-years’ development. 128 tables are used to store data for playground sites, assets and their inspections. Over 300 stored procedures provide a range of functionality that has enabled PlaySafe to dominate its market. PDAs are used to record inspections, findings and tasks and take photographs associated with Sites (playgrounds), their Assets and Findings (defects such as a missing swing seat). Our own synchronisation software updates the SQL tables via SQL Server CE Desktop Connectivity and IIS. We require an experienced Crystal Reports/Visual Basic/Visual C++/C#/.Net/Infragistics coder to write a Wizard-based report generator that enables users to quickly and easily produce detailed inspection reports that include photographs of sites, assets and findings. The location of these photos is stored in the appropriate SQL tables. Some sites, assets and findings may not have photographs but the report will still need to show the textual detail. The report should include outstanding findings, reported by previous inspections and possibly by different inspectors, together with their tasks and the status of the tasks (*eg* unapproved, approved but not assigned, assigned but not completed). The final report option should offer PDF, Word document or Crystal Report. Many inspectors like to draw arrows on the photos of findings to point to particular defects. A detailed specification and sample report are attached. We will provide full access to a working system and, if necessary, the source code (subject to a Non-Disclosure Agreement).
