Blast Theory are looking for a competent C++ developer to port an existing project from a hardware platform based on Windows PocketPC 2003 to one using Windows Mobile 6 for PDAs. The existing project is a C++ application which runs on a DELL Axim PDA. It connects to a server via dial-up networking using a Compact Flash GSM card modem and to a GPS receiver attached via the serial port on the PDA. You will be required to update the project to compile for a Windows Mobile 6 based PDA, updating the code where necessary and checking that the final project runs on the specified PDA. In addition, you will be updating the dial-up networking to use a Bluetooth modem and the serial connection to GPS to use a Bluetooth serial port. The project is supplied as a Microsoft Visual Studio project. A test platform (PDA, GPS and mobile phone), development PC and software will be provided. You will: - have a history of programming in C++ with experience developing in Microsoft Visual Studio - have a working knowledge of development for Windows Mobile devices - be methodical with a track record of producing robust and reliable code - be able to complete the work before January 2008 - preferably come from the South East of England and will be able to work in our studio for the one day
