We are working on a reporting web site for a client and would like some help adding basic user authentication/user management.
What we have now:
1. A basic site with one page and a login page.
2. Some include files in the /common directory where the [login to view URL] is the basic security redirect. It works in memory now and you can find the temp login details here.
2. /common/[login to view URL] and /common/[login to view URL] are the basic struture of the site - top menu and side bar.
3. /[login to view URL] contains the connection details of the database
4. /[login to view URL] contains the basic functions to handle the user authentication - we would like you to use this.
5. /[login to view URL] contains the basic logic to create a user.
Where we would like to be:
Modify the site so it user authentication/creation is from a postgreql database. Users will be either i) user ii) adminuser. Adminusers will be able to see some links that users cannot.
Deliverables are.
1. The same site modified to do user authentication from a postgresql database.
2. Implement the userlist link to show a list of users with add user button
3. User creation form to create/modify user and change password etc.
4. Edit profile screen for user to change his/her own details
5. Some kind of php logic we can add to pages to hide elements if the user is not an adminuser (e.g hiding the userlist link)
