Being into intellectual property law, I can help you with the project you intend embarking on. There is the possibility that a trademark is registered online. To this end, the USPTO permits this against an online trademark application fee. The period taken for the whole process to take its course is about six months from date of the initial application to the ultimate stage of final registration. What follows after the initial stage is that the USPTO Trademark Examiner scrutinizes the application in accordance with what is laid down by the Trademark Manual of Examining Procedure. Should any hindrances be encountered, a ‘preliminary rejection’ would be forwarded to the applying company, who would then be given a five-month period during which to file a reply consisting of arguments which sustain the initial application. Should these arguments prove persuasive to the Trademark Examiner, grant of registration would follow. Should the counter happen, a ‘final rejection’ would be sent to the applying company. What follows after an application goes through is that matters proceed to the Trademark Official Gazette, where, following such publication, a month’s (precisely 30 day) possibility for other bodies to appeal the registration is allowed.
