I need a Python script that do the following: 1. Get Entries from an RSS and save them to a Database : Image (on file system), Title (text), Description (text), DateTime (Datetime), Source (text). 2. Generate an image from the last, not used yet entries. This script should validate which entries were not used yet. Save the image in a folder and an entry in database. Image should contain 4 entries with : Thumbnail, Date/Time, Title, Description and Source 3. Script should be prepared to be scheduled with cron or celery or run manually for both methods: get entries and Image Generation

This seems to be a pretty straightforward project. There are solid existing RSS modules available for Python. We can discuss what database backend you would like to use. I have experience with both SQL databases as well as NoSQL databases like couchdb or mongodb. I think couchdb might work well for this project. Or we can go with sqlite if you're not interested in running a separate daemon. Message me if you have any questions. :)

Hi , I have been scripting in python for over 4 years and I am sure I can deliver the work at the earliest. My scripting skills have helped me win the first runners up position in Microsoft National Hacking Contest 2014. I have built many scripts , one of them is a periodic amazon price checker and updating the user as soon as there is a price change . This project was carried by using a simple python scraper script , using the request and beautifulSoup library , and to make the app responsive, I had used celery as my task queue and redis as the message broker. I am planning on using the request library for making requests, feedparser library to parse the rss feeds, mysql database to store the data. Since , this is my first time in Freelancer , I request you to give me a chance so that i can the deliver the best i have.

Greetings. I'll ACTUALLY do this work --- delivered -- no hassles. I'll set it up on an amazon aws instance, with a db & cron options. Python is no problem and expect a clean extensible interface.
