Environement: Raspberry Pi (Type B) I'm working with a Raspberry Pi (Debian 7.0, wheezy). Distribution: [login to view URL] This distribution starts automatically a script ([login to view URL], see attachement) on boot that looks for video-files in a certain folder and runs a videoplayer-software to loop it. I need a bash script that modifies the behaviour to that script: 1. Insert an USB Stick -> videoplayer-software is stopped 2. console is shown with bash menu 3. Menu Items: a ) List files on USB Drive? -> Lists files on USB Drives, possible to choose a file b) Copy selected file over to ~/video? -> deletes files in ~/video and copy new file Fabian

I will use the whiptail tool to design the minimal console UI you need. Here's a screenshot of what I am talking about: [login to view URL] Otherwise, if you don't need colorful menus, I can use simple terminal bash text inputs. Either way, if you decide to award me this project, you'll have the script as soon as tomorrow morning. I might be able to deliver a first version tonight. I own all variants of Raspberry PI and I could easily test the script myself.

Hello, I have experience with bash automation scripts, and can do yours in a few hours. I will use a udev rule to detect, when the usb is inserted. If it doesn't work, I can make some custom logic using inotify_wait.
