DEVELOP CAD FRAMEWORK TO AUTOMATE TOOTH MOVEMENT ON STL FILE

MILESTONE NOT RELEASED UNTIL FRAMEWORK IS COMPLETED AND SOURCE CODES AND ASSOCIATED PROGRAMMER'S NOTES ARE DELIVERED. Framework • Obtaining of 3D models samples, which will be used for testing. STL format. At least upper and lower arch 5 models. The models will be printed and clear appliances will be fabricated from these models which will be used as our base to be compared with CAD modified STL files. • Accuracy assessment will be conducted by fabricating an orthodontic aligner (appliance) from the original stone model inserted over the subsequent CAD app altered files to verify fit. • Further accuracy assessment will be conducted by overlapping the original STL file over the altered files to verify the degree of movement for each successively moved file and a visual and measured difference will be assessed and verified. • Therefore, the altered files need to be imported into a fixed position of xyz orientation in same size and dimension prior to tooth movement. This position will be referred to as “Home” position. Main Application development Create an internal data structure/model for 3D model manipulation. Create appropriate C# classes. Create a Reader for reading STL data and converting into internal format Create a visualization algorithm and code to visualize input data (no editing, visualization only). Test accuracy by sending to 3D print and making sure it is same dimension as the original STL file. Once verified that the manipulated STL file using CAD application is accurate compared with original.
