SMS Gateway and API with Arduino

What GSM module do you have? I have experience with the SIM800. Do you already have a SIM card and a contract with a mobile provider? And just to clarify: if you are sending the SMS from the SIM800, do you realize that you will still have to pay for the messages sent? The easiest thing is probably to poll a HTTP server periodically to check if there are any new messages to send - so the GSM module would be acting as a client in this regard, polling a remote server perhaps 10/20/30 seconds. This would be a bigger project than I think you realize - it's not a 10-30 USD job. My bid is for a 'proof-of-concept' only
