We need a solution to log atmospheric pressure (e.g. BMP180) and accelerometer data (e.g. ADXL337). The collected data should be retrievable via bluetooth (not realtime). We have the following requirements: + outside measurements should be as small as possible and not exceed 6x3x2 cm + the solution should run for more than 24h on a single accumulator charge

Hello, I have been involved in microprocessors and microcontroller design for many years and most recently using the Arduino environment with the Atmel parts. On the surface your project is fairly straightforwards although there are of course mane qustions that impact on the the project outcomes. However, a data logger with barametric and accelerometer sensor data collection is perfectly feasable, as is the required package size any run time. Obvious immediate questions are:- Sample rate required from each of the sensors. Environmental conditions for the device, , and recorded data formats. I also have the capacity to design and develop the PCB and manufacture protypes. In addition I have in house capacity to produce 3D printed enclosures if required. Hi. Actually I have a working prototype that would meet most of your expectations - I've placed a GY-80 module with an AVR microcontroller and small 2.4GHz radio into a circular enclosure with diameter ~5cm and 1cm height, and a li-po battery of course. It didn't had much more lifespan than 5 hours, but the battery was very small and it measured the pressure changes all the time. For your needs perhaps it would be okay to collect the measurements every once and optimise overall design to correct the lifespan. To minimise radio power consumption the device would just send a broadcast every thirty second and then wait a second for connection. And if the reading device doesn't respond it would go back to sleep. I assume that waiting 30s more during data collection is not a problem while it would massively reduce power consumption. Or it could be even a minute or two - depending on your use case. You can then either use a computer with an USB module with the same 2.4GHz module to retrieve the data, or just build a bridge between propertiary 2.4Ghz RF and Bluetooth if you especially wish to use bluetooth. If we were to talk about meeting your size expectations - smallest board with AVR and 2.4GHz radio I've made is 12x22 milimeters. I put these into LED programmable basketballs ;-) So the most space could be taken by used by the li-po battery. Hi, you could use Arduino Mini so the dimension could be pressed to the smallest size. I see the BMP180 and ADXL337 have the small dimension also, then your requirement would be completed by this arduino mini. Also the bluetooth would use HC-05 module which is very small size.

Hello, I'm an Automation enginneer, working with various technologies. I suppose you would need a remote logging & monitoring solution for atmospheric pressure and various accelerometer data using an embedded system. One possible solution for your application could include an ESP8266 device ( with "real-time" wifi networking), that could allow faster implementation & compatibility.
