I require a collection of SoundFont (SF2) which align to the standard MIDI instrument types. As you know these can be downloaded readily, but I need some "curated" SoundFonts, i.e. a professional ear that can put together some awesome sounding libraries.
My idea is that one SoundFont will be more Analog in nature, one more Synthesised and another will have more Ambient applications.
The MIDI instruments labelled FX... and PAD... are typically poor. I am seeking to create layered sounds, so for example I will mix the String Ensemble, Organ and then an instrument from the PAD's and FX's sounds to create a rich evolving ("swirling") and dynamic sound. Imagine that the FX instrument did nothing but add sparkles, rain like sounds and the PAD added breathy swirling Flanged sounds. The FX sparkle sounds wouldn't need a "Strings-Like" component to their sound as that would be mixed in from another instrument. Building SoundFonts in this way gives me more possibilities to construct layers as the instruments can be thought of more as components.
I am open to someone very creative working with me to create some fantastic potential.
The objective of this is to create SoundFonts that can be loaded into my sequencing software which creates dynamic MIDI tracks (much like an Arranger keyboard would, or Band-in-a-box).
When I think about what this might sound like, I imagine those ambient Pink Floyd intros and also chillout sound tracks.
I was working with the music director earlier.....over there my pass time work was to chop the pre-recorded instrumentals, time correct it & create samples according to different tempo & keep it ready for production.
I have done this for almost an year. I would love to do that for you as I am also a sound designer that gives an added advantage.
