Hi, What's your book about? Fiction? Nonfiction? My suggestion is that you transcribe the handwritten first draft into a typewritten 2nd draft yourself before sending it to an editor. Otherwise ... how are you going to get it to someone - scans? This way you can do your own initial edit - which is what most writers do (many many edits). Alternately - you can get anyone to transcribe it cheaply - then send it to an editor. Professional editors don't typically transcribe handwritten to digital. I'm a university-educated native English speaker. I have lots of experience - writing, editing, teaching creative writing & doing manuscript consultations.
