I need code for a ms sql function that will parse a comma separated string of names to the first 10 values if the number of items is above 50 and then check to see if a certain name is included in that string. If it is included then just add an ... et al to the end but if it is not in the string then remove the last value and add the new item and then ... et al. So both string will have a total of 10 names. I have the code that counts the number of items in the string: so if the string is: Declare @authorCount int SELECT @authorCount = len(@Authors) - len(replace(@Authors, ',', '')) so then you would need to pull the first ten name Name List: = O'Shaughnessy JA, Kelloff GJ, Gordon GB, Dannenberg AJ, Hong WK, Fabian CJ, Sigman CC, Bertagnolli MM, Stratton SP, Lam S, Nelson WG, Meyskens FL, Alberts DS, Follen M, Rustgi AK, Papadimitrakopoulou V, Scardino PT, Gazdar AF, Wattenberg LW, Sporn MB, Sakr WA, Lippman SM, Von Hoff DD Check if Fabian CJ is in the list final output would be because it is in the list O'Shaughnessy JA, Kelloff GJ, Gordon GB, Dannenberg AJ, Hong WK, Fabian CJ, Sigman CC, Bertagnolli MM, Stratton SP, Lam S ...et al Check if Von Hoff DD is in the list final output would be because it is not in the list O'Shaughnessy JA, Kelloff GJ, Gordon GB, Dannenberg AJ, Hong WK, Fabian CJ, Sigman CC, Bertagnolli MM, Stratton SP, Von Hoff DD ...et al
