I do have expertise playing with animation,move from one to another file etc. As per my experience, sometimes, some animations really need user to swap entire skeleton setups. If it is been done in a right way, moving from one to another is not a big deal. Did you try to merge them? Or tried manually replicate changes from the destination file?
