To understand better the error needs to be presented. Also its a little unclear as to why the PFsense config cannot be backed up and restored in a fresh pfsense in aws. Hello I am a system and network administrator, with more than 10 years of experience. I worked with different services and servers, particularly, designing of a local data center, management of local and remote sites, and cloud environments. The above-mentioned experience includes work with virtualization technologies, mostly based on VMWare products, cloud services such as AWS, DigitalOcean, and etc. I have proven knowledge of networking and security, thanks to the work experience and Cisco training sessions I participated. The short list of the servers and services include but are not limited to: Web Server (Apache, Nginx, IIS), Mail Server (Postfix, Exim, PowerMTA), DNS Server (BIND, Unbound, MS DNS), Firewalls (Iptables, PFSense, etc.), basic scripting (BASH) etc. As for the project, I'd like to ask if you are trying to import VMDK disk or it's an OVA templated exported from VMWare Workstation? Hello, I have experience of uploading VM from VMware, VBOX, HyperV and Xen. As per my understanding of your problem, you have uploaded your vmdk on S3, but now when you are converting it to ami you are getting error of partition. Are you uploading windows VM? if yes which version is this? on Windows we generally get this error and we can resolve it. But for that I need to look your VMDK. Further how you are converting it to ami? using aws-cmd ? or any other way?

1. What are Instance settings Full or Paravirtual ? 2. Complaining about filesystem, can you elaborate here ? Did you import OVF/OVA ?, What did you put into container file ? 3. Why to do not use image already avaliable in AWS, $40/month or so ?
