Hi, I have been developing sites with Joomla since 2008. I'm therefore familiar with all the versions from 1.0 to 3.2. Lately I have completed a lot of upgrades, some of them here on freelancer.com Though there are a number of tools that can assist with migration, none is really 100% automated and satisfactory. My take for such upgrades is therefore to start from a blank installation of Joomla 3.2 and make an inventory of all the extensions in order to find out whether or not there are compatible version for Joomla 3.2, and if not an alternative component for 3.2 I then migrate users, sections/categories and content followed by extensions specific content. I usually take advantage of that phase to perform a clean up of all the legacy content that is no longer needed I then redesign the template to match the look and feel of the current site (with adjustments if you wish) and taking advantage of the responsiveness of protostar, the default template that ships with Joomla 3.2 In the end you get an actual Joomla 3.2 site and not a legacy 1.5 in a 3.2 shell.
