Your website is slow not just because of the pictures. But you can solve the pictures problem yourself. You are only displaying them very small, but you link the entire picture at full resolution. Just shrink each picture using photoshop to the same size as you want to display it. If you still want to link to the full picture, I can easily set that up for you at very low cost (like $20 or something), but you might want to see first how fast your website is if you remove all the pictures. Is it as fast as you want it or still slow? I suspect it will still be slow, because of the tool you used to convert the design to a WordPress theme. Anything that does that automatically has got to be very inefficient. Fixing that will be costly.
Before I can post my real bid, I'll have to know what work is involved. If you need to undo the damage done by the wordpress theme converter, we might as well start over from scratch, because it will be a lot easier: give me your original photoshop design, and I'll give you a blazing fast site that looks just like it. If it's just the one page with the only functionality being the pictures and a few hyperlinks, it will be cheap, probably less than a hundred.
If it's just the pictures that are the problem, then it will be a lot cheaper.
By the way, if it turns out I have to re-write your site, in the end it will load in less than two seconds. This is all very easy to do for me. It's really just the two lightboxes, right? and the rest is just making it look the same as it looks now? No problem, $100, close to a one second load time for the page.
I'm not sure what that little play/pause thing is, though... is that a timer? It doesn't seem to work. If you need that to work, it'll cost a little extra. Not much though, I just did one of those recently so it won't take me long. I can even make it remember so if the user leaves the page and comes back, the timer will still be counting where it should be without ever stopping.
