WordPress Migration Expert Migrate a website that has been has been written in MVC model, where: model is based on MySQL databases, view is based on Smarty Template Engine and Controller is performed by PHP language to Wordpress. ## Deliverables 1. *Can you describe your software architecture? Please state your major software components and their interaction. Additionally can you give details of the revision levels especially in the case of the database you use?* The whole framework has been written in MVC model, where: model is based on MySQL databases, view is based on Smarty Template Engine and Controller is performed by PHP language. 1. *Please segment your answers to the questions above in respect to front, back and middleware.* *Any diagrams would be helpful.* There is no need of segmenting it. MVC model is segmented itself: front is a view, back is a model and middleware is a controller. 2. *Do you use dynamic content throughout your system? Is there any hardcoded static content used any where in your system? Please cover all aspects of the system including, search results, category pages and any specific pages. * Yes we do. All of our static pages (static page = page without a php script - such as contact form etc.) are all editable through our CMS System, which is based on the same framework and accessible on a subdomain. It is autonomic system, integrated with the main one (some components are common for both systems). All our static sites have full SEO edition. Moreover, the main system is multi-language ready, so we cannot have static content anywhere. 3. *For things like pictures and folders do you use relative or absolute addresses?* We use relative paths for everything which is being included. 4. * **Your login for clients and access control, is it custom coded or something else?* Login for clients is a standard function based on session, which in our systems case is based on the database, not cookie. As far as access control is concerned, it is our original project, which was made to meet L4B requirements. 5. *Does your software architecture require a specific software or hardware platform?* *For instance, Linux or Microsoft servers, .Net etc.* Because the website was originally hosted on the Unix Server, our systems were adapted to Unix environment, but it may be moved to Windows server as well . 6. *In your frontend GUI, do you use custom code, or any third party modules?* We do not use any third party modules, except JQuery and AdvancedAJAX libraries to some features, but mainly we based GUI on Smarty Template Engine. We also use PEAR php libraries, for certain functions. 7. *Has your architecture been designed to meet certain requirements covering fault-tolerance, backward compatibility, performance or expandability?* We use one server architecture, so there is no fault-tolerance. Performance is constantly monitored and if there is a need it is being improved on the parts that need it. Expandability is guaranteed by MVC model. 8. *Do you instigate any automatic backups of the database or critical s/w components?* Full site backup is being done every two weeks or just after any major update. Full database backups are being done every day. 9. *Do you use software release library, change management or tracking for controlled rollbacks?* We do not use any of these systems. Where do you perform your test/debugging?* Yes we have and it is hosted on the same server. 2. *Do you interface with any other external programs/systems or have you developed API's for third party interactions?* * * No, we do not interface with any other external programs or systems. There is also no API for third party interactions.* * 3. *Do you perform regular maintenance in terms of database tuning, load balance, log analysis? * Yes we do. Database performance are constantly monitored. 4. *What email server do you use, or do you use default host server facilities?* We use a default host server email system (sendmail). There are no fixed user roles. Each user from administration backend has fully cutomized persmisions to each feature. Maps are fetched from the MySQL database. Currently the site is prepared for support three languages: English (main), German and French. Mandarin is a kind of SEO site (we also have Russian, Brazilian and Indian). Geographic search is based on geographic locations : world region, country, region and subregions. Maps are prepared for geographic locations and are placed in the database. There is no formal documentation of the system. It is based on MVC model and on our proprietary framework.
