I was my belief that I could use SMS (short message service)- commonly known as text messaging, to send an asynchronous text message from an application using a gateway API, to a cell phone device and receive a return reply back to the application that sent the text message. The fact is that text messaging is asynchronous only between two cell phone devices on the same network. This means that it is not possible to recieve a return reply, from the cell phone back to the application. and thus cannot confirm to the web client that the message was recieved and the reservation accepted. Since I cannot ask you to code the impossible, I have to rethink my messaging logic to come up with another way to get the message out to the service provider, and for the service provider to let the web client know that the message reque sting a reservation was recieved and accepted or declined.
