This project is a simple bookmarklet that allows users to quickly select an item inside of any web page (similar to the Firebug selector or Safari Web Clips) and have that code be uploaded to a mysql database on thesoftwareswebsite.com. The user will be able to tag each piece of code by a name and a type (image, video, email, blog post, etc.) and have a clean interface for creating, copying, reading, updating, and deleting their swipe files. Technologies Required: • CodeIgniter MVC framework • mySQL database • JSON and XML • jQuery and jQuery UI Step 1: The user is browsing a website and they identify an item on the screen that they would like to "grab." The user clicks the bookmarklet button and their mouse cursor turns into a "crosshair." As the user moves their around the screen, the objects in the web pages highlight to indicate that they can be selected. Step 2: After selecting the desired item (a picture, a headline, an email, etc.), a simple screen appears that allows the user to name, describe, and tag the selected item. When the user presses the submit button, the underlying code is uploaded to the [login to view URL] mysql database for that user. There should also be a special provision that detects if the swipe file content came from gmail, yahoo mail, or hotmail. If so, the system will automatically categorize the content as an email, and automatically grab the email's subject line and content. Step 3: When the user logs into the [login to view URL] website, they're presented with a screen to create, copy, read, update, and delete the content that they grabbed. This screen will be similar to the Google Docs Management interface allowing the user can create and categorize folders for their swipe files. IMPORTANT: To be considered, please indicate and reference any similar projects you've worked on. Your application will **NOT** be considered unless you complete this step.
