I have a virus or some infected object on my computer I need removed.
We can either ping messages back and forth with questions/answers on how to remove it or you can connect remotely with LiveVNC and remove it yourself (preferred).
If you have another program where you can control my desktop and I can watch you fix it that's free, let me know and we can work that out.
**VIRUS DETAILS:
**Norton doesn't pick it up, nor does Housecalls. The only thing that does is AVG and AVG cannot get rid of it. AVG doesn't give us any details or a name for this problem.
Each time I access C:\temp AVG spikes up error messages and every time it runs it's normal scans it does the same thing.
You can't delete it becaue the permission is denied! This means it is in use.
When I get the AVG errors, it pops up about 4 or 5 times which makes me assume it's routed it's way into my system that many times and each error is infact unique.
**WHAT I DID:**
I went into safemode and deleted it. But when I returned to normal mode, it changed it's name from [login to view URL] to install~1.exe.
**WHAT I NEED:**
One of you miracle workers who know what I have (or know they can fix it) to either post me a nice walkthroug so I can do it myself and allow me to email you questions if needed.
OR connect remotely and let me watch you fix it when you're in control of the mouse/keyboard. All you need is LiveVNC or Java enabled.
Of course you can't access safemode because I'll be online at the time and I am running Windows XP Home edition.
** Attached is a screen shot of what AVG says. I get these two popups about 5 or so times each time it occurs.
