Need to develop a wordpress website. The website will be half blog, half social media. Users will be able to create a personal profile, interact with friends and add pages, pictures and video. There will be an front exterior page with blog/news content and the social media functions must be integrated into that when the user logs in. We need programing in html, css, xhtml, php and certain design challenges. Will also need the ability for users to change/update their own privacy settings, add friends to their profile and send/receive private messages while on the site. There will be a section of the site dedicated to advertisements. ## Deliverables Social Network 1. Users can sign up, create an account and invite their network of friends to join and interact with them on the site. 1. The "site" will walk the user through setting up their account and creating their user profile page(s). 2. Users can alert their friends they're using the "site" and invite them to join the site by entering their email address and password into a "contact importer tool" that will send an email request to each of the users contacts. 3. The "contact importer tool" will support major email providers, such as AIM, AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, and private email clients. 4. The initial registration process should be quick and seamless, contain hip and interesting antidotal messages or quotes to maintain the users interest throughout the registration process and be completed within no more than (2) minutes. However, certain required information must be captured before a user may progress to complete their profile: mobile number, zip code, email and preferences. 5. Users will communicate on the site in several ways: 1. They can send a message (or respond) to any member of the site. 2. They can respond to a comment posted by another member or comment on a post shared among other members. 3. They can post a comment on their own profile page (where other users may respond to the comment). 4. They can send an invitation about an upcoming event. 5. They can send a "mass message" to their entire network. 6. They can use an "instant messenger" feature to contact friends who are presently logged in to the site. 7. They can recommend friends to other friends on the site. 8. They can post a comment on an article written on the blog. 2. Users can upload pictures, video, reply to comments from other users and attach links of videos and articles. 3. There will be multiple types of users. Initially, the two main types will be "individual users" and "networks". Users and networks have the option of creating a third type of user -- called a "group". 4. User can choose preferences and privacy settings allowing them to choose how information is displayed on their profile page. 5. Comments: 1. The "comment auto-grow" box will allow users to make limitless comments when responding to information posted by other members. 6. Social Media Dashboard: 1. Users can access social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube) in real time from their profile page. Video should be imbedded, as to keep users from leaving the site. Likewise, users should be prompted by a warning when accessing links that take them off-site. Blog 1. The "site" will have a blog that will combine articles written authentically by bloggers for the "site" and contain news feeds from popular main stream media news outlets in the U.S, continuously streaming and updating content as breaking news occurs. 2. Users can comment on articles posted on the blog; their comments will be copied onto the users profile page, according to the users preselected preferences. Functions 1. Users can use the site in various ways. First, as a news aggregator. Second, as a social media network to connect with friends. Advertisers and network users can use the site to connect with potential buyers. 2. Visual display: 1. The front page of the site will display news content from various sources and advertisements along the right side of the page. This layout will vary by page view and for interior pages. 2. Users who log in to the site will have a three-fold view, with the social media features displayed prominently in the center section. The other two smaller sections will display: a condensed news section (on the left) and the advertising section will remain on the right side of the site.
