Hello, Would a completely JS solution be alright with you? Basically just using java-script to disable the add to cart button on the product pages (instead of coding this as a complete plugin for Shopify it would be a template modification, saving a lot of time and not having to worry about future patches or updates). The home page coding would already have to be in JavaScript to achieve the lightbox effect you showed in the examples. Thanks! Keith

The idea is cool, but I would suggest that if you have a user registration and login system in place the just add one more field in user profile for date of birth. this will be more helpful to your users because they will be not bothered by the system repeatedly each time they will land on your web site or try to checkout. Adding a feature like this might divert the attention of user specially at the time of checkout.
