Build the start of a Laravel 5 bootstrap admin app to consume a simple API

We would need a demo / proof of concept for a web application accessible by our customers. We’d like to have it developed in Laravel 5. We offer different kind of IT services to companies, and with the app we’d like to provide more insight in some of the services we deliver and bring different pieces together in a user-friendly UI. The application is only accessible by existing customers. People working at the same customer should have their own accounts, but those separate accounts should be linked to a parent customer. For this basic user management you may use a boilerplate like rappasoft/laravel-5-boilerplate for example, with some small adjustments for grouping users under a customer. We purchased a bootstrap admin theme for this project (Inspinia admin). For this project we would need it to consume a simple API, read info from it and display it nicely formatted. We’ve written an API wrapper in the past in PHP (not Laravel) that we used to read some information from the system to use for billing. First you’d need to rewrite the same functions of this API wrapper to a Laravel package (I’m thinking Guzzle is maybe suited for this, just a thought). There’s no CRUD for now, just displaying one table of data, and a detail page, maybe with some tabs or grouping of data. Also the API itself currently only retrieves data so does not need to have any CRUD functions yet. The controls in the admin theme will help getting this right, and we'll work on that together to get a good result. We would need someone who knows how to do this and knows his stuff to develop fast and uses opensource/community components when appropriate, we don't need you to reinvent the wheel :) Once this initial setup & proof concept is done, we will probably want it to be extended further, so that can be an opportunity for a longer term development. You will work on a private git repo and you need to understand the basic git workflow. We need this already in the next few days roughly done, so you’d need to be able to start with it fast and be experienced enough to get it right immediately. The data you will read from the API is for a backup service we run for these customers. There are several backup sets for each customer. Each backup set has a number of properties for example the directories that are being backed up, the backup frequency, the lastest backup date & status, the size of the data, … The non-laravel PHP API wrapper that you’d need to rewrite you can find on Github (php-ahsay-api-wrapper). The wrapper also has methods to retrieve information from backup jobs that ran a certain moment under a backup set. We like to have all the API wrapper functionality as a Laravel package, but only backup sets are being used in the initial layout. You’ll see the wrapper is really just something very simple right now, it just fires the request, and processes the returned XML in not very meaningful arrays to handle in PHP. If you can improve it, the better! Please confirm you understood the requirements & short deadline for the first part of this project.
