Hi, My name is pallab. And I have built an e commerce price comparison website using Cassandra. Previously we were using mysql like you. From my experience I can tell you that migrating mysql to Cassandra is not easy as just changing a database. If you are doing basic queries like select and insert then you are safe. But if you have joins or aggregations or group by or like queries it won't be easy. You will need to change the application which is your php script. My advice is if you are not fully aware of what you are trying to achieve don't do it. Stick with mysql as long as you can. But if your application needs the level of performance that Cassandra provides be patient and be open to put in some more work. Cassandra is awesome and I love it, it just takes a bit of hard work to get it right. I hope you love Cassandra too.
