Hello, Errors in the /var/log/cron log file might help finding the real cause of the issue. I will need those errors for further debugging. If the cron job can be run manually but fails when launched by crond, the issue may lie with i) the cron file not having a blank line at the end of the file ( a cron bug ), ii) the user running the cron does not have permission on the commands/script to be launched or the log file that needs to be written to, iii) special characters in the cron job have not been escaped ( the same command will work on bash but not in crond ). I would suggest to temporarily redirect the output log of the command to a file in /tmp on one of the machines to test the cron job and communicate the result for further debugging. For the log file, a logrotate can be implemented to rotate logs on a daily basis and compress them. The retention for the logs can be specified for 14 days or months as you seem correct.
