Firmware that operates a 3 axis CNC machine from an Arduino Uno is available and is called "grbl". There are a number of apps available to send G code via USB to the Arduino Uno that commands the CNC machine movement, etc. Some of them are browser based, some are Java, some written in Python, and another in Visual Basic.
There are is also a 6 axis version of "grbl" available for the Arduino Mega, but there are no apps that cater to 6 axes. I would like a G code Sender that is designed for a 6 axis CNC machine that has a GUI that is configured like an industrial CNC machine (not a windows program). It needs to be compact enough to run an a Raspberry Pi 3B plus be able to run on a tablet. I am currently thinking Python is the best high level language to use, but am open to alternatives.
An example of an existing Python G code Sender is called bCNC and can be found here:

It is possible that much of the code can be used with an enhanced GUI.
Communication with "grbl" is ascii characters over USB or from the UART of the Raspberry Pi to the Arduino UART.
Mach3 is an older windows based application that operates a CNC machine by bit-banging the old school parallel port. Its GUI is highly configurable. It would be nice if this new G code Sender's GUI can be similar.
Hello,
How are you?
I have read your project description and am ready for discussing with you about project for now.
I have experienced in Arduino, Python
I will work very hard and best for you.
Best Regards
How are you?
Like you see in my profile and portfolios, I have rich experience in C/C++, C#, and Python programming as well as microcontrollers.
Especially, I completed many arduino and raspberry pi projects for such features.
I would like to discuss with you and get more detail requirements.
Please give me your details, then I will provide best solution for you.
Thanks
Hi there, I have checked the details I have great experience with Arduino, Python. Please start the chat so we can discuss this job more in detail. Thanks
Hello!
I am a python developer.
I looked at your project and it seems interesting.
I have all necessary skills required for this project.
Ping me to discuss in detail.
I have already build a G Code sender on VB6 (see my portfolio). Which is GRBL VB.NET alternative VB6 for 3 axis. I have experience to build application for Raspberry PI3 GUI interface. If you allow me to build such 6 axis G Code sender application for Raspberry PI3 on Python, I can try to move it successful but enough project time is required. The time can be 60 to 90 days long.
Have more than 15 years of experience on Computer Language and Digital and Analog Electronics.
I would like to propose my candidacy for your position of Web Developer which I checked on the posted project.
My web developing expertise includes:
Designing, building and maintaining ecommerce ,Woo-commerce, Shopping websites
Strong database knowledge specifically MySQL, PHP, CSS and (X) HTML.
Extensive knowledge of ASP, JSP, JavaScript,Java (Core), JavaScript, AngularJS, ExpressJS,NodeJS, ReactJS, Java/J2EE code, Python, Oracle SQL, HTML, XML and Eclipse.
I possess excellent communication skills and can liaise effectively with both clients and work colleagues.
Other strong points include an ability to work as part of a team or individually, multi-task, prioritize and work to deadlines under pressure.
Therefore in view of all of the above I would be highly gratified if you consider me for this important position.
I am available to come in for an interview at any time, and would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you
I hope that I am granted an opportunity to talk and perhaps meet with you in the very near future.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Dear
As I am a senior software developer, have rich experience with various application development
using C#, VC, VB.Net, NodeJS, Matlab, java, and python
If you are interested with my proposal, please let me know it.
I hope to work with you on this project.
Thanks.
Yes Buddy,,,its me Imad,,,,will give u the best work,,,,,I m a solo developer,,,doing dev in arduino, matlab, automation, PIC, ATMEGA and Raspberry Pie,,,,,u will feel brotherhood,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I DO NOT OUTSOURCE
I have been a freelancer for the past 8 years, I believe that my experience and skill in this background will prove to be of great help to you. Contact me to discuss more on the details
hi
we need some details to set the right cost of this project
details which we need:
- the grbl code "version" which run on arduino mega for 6 axis.
- what you need exactly in raspberry pi gui app:
- a gui to load files like stl and send gcode lines to arduino
and monitoring the execution of it
- or a gui to send th basic command like homing , reset , set settings
and a input line to write your gcode and run it.
note :
- 500 $ is not our price ( it can be more or less according full details)
- we can provide a free demo as proof of concept before accepting the bid
Hi there,
I'd love to get involved and bring this project to reality.
I'm a developer from Holland with four years of relevant experience.
Send me a message if you have any questions.
Regards,
Stan
I am an electronic engineer from School of Engineering and Technology ITBA, and studying a Master in Embedded Systems from University of Buenos Aires, UBA.
I am currently working as a freelance electronic developer
I work daily designing embedded electronic equipment executing tasks such as:
{ Taking requirements and planning acceptance tests of hard and soft.
{ Schematic design, PCB, simulations, assembly, 3D modeling and machining.
{ Coding for real time in C / C ++ in bare metal or over RTOS.
{ Codification and execution of the unit tests and management of continuous integration tools.
{ Assembly and start-up of prototypes and assembly line documentation.
I am very pragmatic, committed and enjoy solving complex problems in a creative way by exchanging ideas with my
peers I prefer down-top developments using Agile concepts to keep the product functional from the beginning.
I have an electronics workshop with tools such as:
{ Assembly line of SMD and TH plates, pasta stencil, pick and place, reflow oven and wave soldering
machine.
{ Reworking and manual welding tools.
{ Stock of SMD and TH materials of current and specific use.
{ Machine for cutting and laser engraving.
{ Several machines for 3D printing.
{ Generators, Oscilloscopes and Advanced Instrumentation for measurement and diagnosis.
These tools, my experience, technical ability and frequent academic updating allow me to unwrap in most instances of
the development of a professional embedded electronic equipment.
