R-script to do spatial-merging

Dear Sir/Madam, I am a GIS developer and R expert, skilled at spatial processing tasks like this. I propose to write an R script that uses the rgdal, sp, and rgeos libraries to read your spatial data and conduct a spatial join between them, returning either an intersection between the files, or one/both files with an additional field with the ID of the matching feature from the other, whichever you need. This shouldn't take me too long, I can likely have a working, fully commented script to you within 2-3 days. Kind regards, Shaun

I have a strong background of theoretical statistics and probability theory.I graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2016. I have experience of implementing Factor Analysis, Principle Components analysis, multivariate regression , ANOVA , Regularized regression methods like LASSO and Elastic net, classification and regresison trees, Monte Carlo methods etc. in R. I have had the opportunity of working as a research assistant at IIM Lucknow, where I looked into a data set pertaining to market advertisements , and I gained some experience in statistical learning. I have sound knowledge of Linear Algebra, Mathematical analysis and probability theory. I am, currently, exposing myself to machine learning and a study of the theory of derivatives pricing.
