This is Rex and I would like to apply for the position of Virtual Assistant. I have been working as a Virtual Assistant for more than 4 yrs now, and have been freelancing for more than 6 yrs. I have done everything from writing articles to books to managing social media, writing and posting content, managing customer service and even cold calling to make sales.
Currently I am coming off a long term project that lasted nearly 4 yrs where I was working for a company that organizes events. I was in charge of all the social media, chatting to potential sponsors, investors and attendees ensuring that they were happy with our service.
I worked without much oversight, and my client would just send me mails on what was needed. I will find a way to do it, and will check in only if there was something that I did not know or if I felt that they needed to sign off on something.
I sent out mails on my client's behalf, often writing them out and saving them as drafts for a final perusal before being sent. I scheduled meetings between my client and potential sponsors and investors who I had followed up with. I maintained reports, and also occasionally hired freelancers to do something that I could not do.
Before starting my freelance career, I worked at a recruitment agency hiring temp workers for companies like Sun MIcrosystems, SLAC, BAE, Pratt & Whitney etc. I was head of operations and had a team of 20 recruiters/sourcers under me. Am closing now because of space constraint
