Android switching to a WiFi network (Java)

I need some help to fix my code, I would like to push a button in the app and it will switch the mobile device WiFi network, I have some demo code (see attached) but it does not work and not sure what is wrong with it. Also I would like to test if the WiFi network exists before competing the switch off. You can just send me the code or a mini app with a single activity with a button.
