Write an Android application

The “Restaurant finder” is a GPS-based(NOT required) mobile applications (IOS & Android), which helps users to find the closest restaurants based on the user’s current position and other specification(Filters) like price, restaurant type, dish and more. This information will act as the bases for the search results displayed to the user. An administrator also uses the web-portal in order to administer the system and keep the information accurate. Furthermore, Mobile apps need both Internet and GPS (NOT required) connection to fetch and display results near the user. All system information is maintained in a database, which is located on a web-server. The mobile apps also interact with the GPS-Navigator software. By using the GPS-Navigator, (GPS is NOT required to use the apps) users can view desired restaurants on a map and be navigated to them. The application also has the capability of representing both summary and detailed information about the restaurants. This system will consist of two parts: mobile applications and one web portal. The mobile applications will be used for the users to find restaurants and view information about them , and also will be used by the restaurants to enter data that they want to display. The web portal will be used by restaurants to sign up with the app and the admin to manage the system as a whole. The mobile applications will need (NOT required) to communicate to a GPS application within the mobile phone, which in turn communicates with a physical GPS device to find the location of the user. The GPS will provide the mobile applications with locations of both the users and the restaurants and the distance between them, it will also provide constant updated prices for the users and the functionality to display and view the data entered by the restaurants. Filter feature will provide the ability to the user to filter: distance, price, closing soon. The functionality provided by the GPS will be embedded into the application in order for the user to be able to use the functions in the application in a seamlessly manner. Since this is a data-centric product it will need somewhere to store the data. All of the database communication will go over the Internet. There are three types of users that interact with the system: users of the mobile application, restaurant owners and administrators. Each of these three types of users has different use of the system so each of them has their own requirements. The mobile application users can only use the application to find a restaurant and add the order to cart. This means that the user have to be able to search for food, choose an item and then add it into basket. No gateway will implemented. In order for the user to use the food item found, he/she has to the check out the order on the basket, then the user will get a Code/Scan that he/she can redeem on the restaurant. Users will have the functionality to filter search and to get a relevant search result there are multiple criteria the users can specify and all results matches all of those. The restaurant owners and the users will use the mobile application and the web portal. The restaurant will manage the information about their restaurant on the mobile app, for example a description of the restaurant, contact information and their current food display. The administrators also only interact with the web portal. Going through the approval process of the apps platforms till the apps and website go live, and the support after production is mandatory. Beside Google Play and Itunes, the mobile applications MUST be uploaded in the following platforms as well: GetJar Opera Mobile Store Amazon Appstore AppBrain The App Icon should be well designed and carefully crafted. Google Analytics will be implemented on both applications and website. Keywords must be implemented on both website and mobile apps. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) must be signed for the proprietary information agreement.
