data acquisition - from an Angular.js site

Firstnote was originally developed to acquire publicly-available information and applicable attachments using a type of scraping system from html. It used a real-time bot/script to check a website for if new & updated licenses had been issued; and if so; scrape applicable html data and acquire the applicable files (.pdf); then add them to a Database. Recently, the previous web search has been updated. It utilizes an angular.js system to do searches. While it provides MORE information than the previous searches, it is not compatable with the previous search scriptings and applicable scraping. The successful candidate will use the existing database and update the programming/scripting to run a similar service. Between ‘work hours’, it will search the main page (see attachment). It will identify new “application Id” listings & links (note; the most recent are the ‘last’ pages : so may have to jump to the >> icon/button to get those, and possibly work backwards from there. Once a application id is identified, then the system/script/etc. will follow the link to the applicable information and links, as well as attachments. One of the attachments will have some information in a .pdf form (the font is recognizable by most sytems) and scrape (extraction / OCR / parsing); and this information will be updated to the database. Most importantly, the license id would be utilized as the main key for items within the database. Finally, an automailer will send out information to users in the database. There will require some filtering or criteria setting for whether the information would be sent, and what information would be sent. The designer and owner of the site would have ultimate admin control on users, user preferences, etc. We currently have a web server and database (php/mysql); languages/interfaces can be confirmed at time of project start. A tour could be arranged for a shortlist of the candidates to show how the previous system worked, and what information will be required to migrate.
