Hello. I have four years of editing work in my current country's largest law firm (I'm actually Canadian). I have edited a huge amount of formal documents: patents, translations of laws, legal correspondence, requests to clients for payments, and more. Before that, I edited mass market publications.
From a combination of my experience and temperament, I have become a very careful editor with excellent grammatical skills. (I even explained to Freelancer that the one question I had "incorrect" on my Level 1 exam had two correct answers, and they agreed with me.) If I do not edit a piece and make the grammar, flow and clarity perfect, I feel that I have not done my job. I think that my perfectionist approach and background distinguish me from other candidates for this work.
I would ask $25 for every 1000 words, given that these are formal documents; you cannot hurry through them.
Please contact me any time with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Mark
