Provide assistance with the Design of an analogue detector circuit to detect light source from a laser beam and output a digital signal. The circuit should detect a faint light at wavelength of 630nm from a rotating laser source and output a digital signal (high or low) when detection of light is present. The Light intensity at this point is unknown but the circuit should operate from a distance greater than 50 meters from the light source. Your task will be to assist in the circuit design and theory of operation only, we will assembly and test the circuit and provide feedback for improvements and refinement. Further requirements and specification of circuit can be discussion with successful freelancer.

Hello. When frequency of rotation is enough stable and lay in some known range , it's possible to detect incoming light signal with the same frequency. (If you can, for example, provide a synchro-signal from the source of rotation - that even better) The main problem is to catch the beam. For the distance of 50 m you may need a line of sensor to not miss the signal. That depends of stability of traectory of the beam. The more oscillation your beam have - the larger line of sensor you will need. Also, if some AC-powered light can be applyied to the sensors, the rotation speed have to be not close to 50-60 and 100-120 rotations per second (to prevent false triggering).
