)IT department installs the new Windows 10 app on a Microsoft Surface for sales personnel
)User downloads marketing files and an XML file (existing app), resulting in a file directory on your local harddisk and goes offline.
)When launching the new Windows 10 app, it shows a fancy splash background and asks for the location of an XML index file; a standard location is proposed (e.g. c:\downloads) , so that the user only has to confirm and doesn’t have to browse for this file.
)The new app assists the user in filtering through about 250 locally stored documents (PDF, PPTX, MP4, MPEG) in an intuitive way by selecting tags that apply to the item(s) they’re looking for. Use this as an example [login to view URL]
)After having filtered the total item list, user ticks on one of the items to open the item. The right desktop application starts (apply usual Windows behaviour where mimetype is linked to an application). So when ticking a PPTX, Powerpoint opens. When ticking PDF, Adobe Reader opens.
