I need an experienced JAVA programmer to update an existing jar file for me. The jar that I need updated was packaged/created anywhere between 2000-2004 (not sure) but it only works with Java 1.4.3. This jar is for a small Yahoo! Game, the guy who created it copied the original jar file and edited it with his own functions, one of the main functions is that it plays the game for you and opens up a special SPY window that allows you to see your pieces ahead of time (another cheat). It runs fine in XP when you have Java 1.4.3 installed, it will load in Vista but it doesn't connect. It may just need to be re-jarred or the Manifest file needs to be updated. Not quite sure.
## Deliverables
1) This applet needs to run in Vista on the latest version of Java, meaning it needs to connect to the server and still maintain it's cheat functions.
2) A further explanation, there's roughly 200 classes in each jar file (the old jar with the cheats and the latest jar that is used for the game today) so it's fairly large. The good news is the hard work has already been done, all I want is for it to run in Vista and work on the latest version of Java. When you compare each class file from the cheat [login to view URL] to the current ywt0 jar, they're very similar. The [login to view URL] has about 15 extra classes for the cheat functions. I zipped up the packages for both jars. Both packages include the extracted class files and java source to each class file. I also include pictures and the applet that loads these jar files to show you what it does in Vista and what it does in XP.
EDIT:
I created a tutorial on my website to better explain what exactly this jar does.
Tutorial: <[login to view URL]>
I don't know if you need the current jar but I included it anyways. I'm not sure if this is a really difficult job or if it just requires a simple re-jarring of the class files. So I'm open to all offers.
