This can be achieved by designing a C# win forms application, that will check records on both databases periodically and sync. Hi I am placing this bid assuming you want to transfer some data from your legacy ERP system to your magento application, where you have MS SQL as your ERP database. I also assume you have the ERP MS SQL database in your local area netwrok and the MySQL database is hosted on a shared hosting. In this situation, it is always recommended not to expose your ERP (MS SQL) database publicly, for security reasons. What I suggest is a two step process in which there will be no direct communication between MS SQL and MySQL. Step 1 : Create a windows application on MS SQL Server, which fetch the required data from MSSQL, convert the data into XML, call a webservice and pass the data to the webservice. Step 2 : Host a webservice on your Magento server, this web service will accept data from the windows application, parse it and insert to MySQL database. This way your MS SQL credentials are mentioned only in the windows application which resides on the MS SQL server. The webservice on the magento server can be IP protected, so that it responds to requests coming from your IP range only. By not exposing the MS SQL credentials, the MS SQL server remains secure. No public IP needed on SQL server, just an internet connection will be enough. The windows application can be have some additional options, so that you see and decide what data you transfer. Depending on SQL Server edition/version, I could create a SSIS package for ongoing sync if that is possible. Hi, I could write a .net application that could run on a Windows PC or server somewhere, either as a foreground application or as a Windows service, that monitors both databases and performs synchronisations. I have worked with all these technologies before and so in theory it's quite doable. Dear sir: It is important you notice that job is a "delicated" job. Not any amateur can built it with efficience, reliability, ... There are a lot of ways to do that. It depends if local/remote Db (each one), etc... The most suggetion is use a intermediate resource file (SQL sentences, CSV, etc...) for export/import) because it will possible to control all procedures and also to do a "atomic" updating (ever with reverting). If I where given the choice of technology for this I would develop a small script in Ruby that is easily configured to add/remove tables to sync.
