Project Scheduler: Project Description: Create MS Project schedules ON SITE for 2 client IT
projects.
This short-term temporary position will report directly to the Project Management
Consultant, who has been hired by their Client to ensure their Client's teams
develop two detailed, realistic, well-thought-out project plans, during a workshop
led by the Project Management Consultant. 1. The scheduler will work closely with the client's team and will attend the
customized Project Excelerate Real Projects/Real Teams Workshop (led by the
Consultant who is hiring the Scheduler) and capture the team planning during
the workshop, to be held in Albuquerque, NM, likely in late June. 2. Information about work packages, tasks, deliverables, sequence, time
estimates, resources, budget, and other detailed information needed to create
the project plan will be provided during the workshop, on the fly, by the
Client's team members. Scheduler will need to listen carefully, follow the
discussion and planning action, and capture information on his/her laptop in
MS Word, Excel and MS Project. 3. Scheduler will need to work during the evening after the workshop to refine
the project plans, including several contingency plans, and prepare the plans
for detailed review by the Client the following day. 4. On the day following the workshop the scheduler will present a detailed
project plan for review by the Client and the Consultant. Client will provide
desired changes. Scheduler will need to understand and clearly capture these
changes during this meeting, so Scheduler can incorporate all desired changes,
working independently. 5. The scheduler will produce 2 final project plans in MS Project including all
revisions needed to meet the client's needs, including project contingency
plans. Project plans will be set up to easily produce standard reports that
measure progress, issue alerts of emerging problems, measure budget and
earned value, as well as other reports required by Client. 6. In addition, the scheduler will be available to answer any questions the teams
have following the delivery of the final project plans. This may occur via
phone/video or in person in Albuquerque, NM. 7. This engagement is likely to total 4-8 days of work over several weeks, at
least 4 of which will be f/t on site in Albuquerque, NM. Requirements: 1. Must be a US Citizen, and residing in the continental US. 2. Must be able to spend 4-6 days in Albuquerque, NM. One or two trips will be
necessary. Normal and necessary travel expenses will be reimbursed, in
addition to fee. 3. At least 2 years f/t experience with MS Project 2013, prefer 5+ recent years
experience with MS Project including advanced features. 4. Has laptop with MS Project 2013. 5. Fast, accurate entry of data into MS Project. 6. Able to listen and capture information accurately and quickly during fast paced
team discussion.
7. Able to communicate professionally and effectively with IT engineers and
managers. Must present a professional appearance, however, casual dress is
acceptable (no suits ;).
