The project is to add multi-channel playback support to an existing sound library on Windows XP.
This will be accomplished through
a backend to the audiere sound library ([login to view URL]) that will allow multi-channel playback (> 2 channels) on Windows Xp. We are open to suggested backends, like ASIO, but the resulting code must:
1. Include all files required to compile, other than publicly available SDKs, etc. Clear instructions for how to compile, including download instructions and required directory structures for needed SDKs, etc, must be included as well.
2. To the extent that relevant licensing agreements allow, all code must be statically linked.
3. Be compilable when all source files are added, as is, to the current SVN trunk of the audiere library, and all specified files not included (SDK files, etc) are located in specified directories.
4. Once compiled, allow access to all channels of multi-channel hardware (such as the Echo Gina 3g sound card, which has 6 output channels) from within Windows XP or newer.
