This project is a port of older Mac OS Classic Carbon/PowerPlant classes/application code to Objective-C/Mac OS X. The app in question is FMSync ([login to view URL] - posted with this project as well). This application uses AppleEvents to read & write data to FileMaker databases so that they could be synched with the Palm-based JSync. While all of this worked well under classic, it is rather old Carbon/C++ code. Ideally, the finished project would include all of the code that's now part of the FMSync project. However, I realize that some of the Palm-related fuctionality simply can't be ported to anything practical on Mac OS X. Therefore, to make this simpler, what I'm most interested in is the classes to read & write the FileMaker data. So, if you can only port the FileMaker-related portions of the code and provide me with a nice Objective-C class that offers database, table, and field-level read & write capability, that will be fine. The completed deliverable's classes can still use Carbon APIs to do some of the low-level AE processing, but the overall wrappers, etc. should be Objective-C/Cocoa. In any event, the project should be an XCode 2.x project, buildable under Power PC or Intel. The completed deliverable should also include a sample Objective-C/Cocoa application that shows how to read & write data to a FileMaker database. (Please indicate in your bid whether you are bidding on porting the whole app or just the FileMaker data access classes. Thank you!)
