Ruby on Rails and Web 2.0 app developers

Assembla is seeking talented individual developers for a complex Ruby on Rails application. Developers can join the team by either completing a feature for a fixed price, or by qualifying for a one-week, paid trial. If the trial is successful we will invite the developer to join our core team. We are seeking several developers, an application UI designer, and a systems administrator. DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS * You must have demonstrated the ability to design and build a complete software application on your own. * You should be talented, productive, and able to work with multiple programming platforms and languages. We are looking for developers who are in the top 10% of talent. * You must have experience working in a distributed team project - open source or commercial, with Subversion, online issue management, and daily builds. * You must understand how to work with Ruby on Rails. ## Deliverables DESIGNER REQUIREMENTS *You must have demonstrated the ability to design applications using modern styles and javascript features. You must be able to submit samples of your work or sample sites. * You must have experience working in a distributed team project - open source or commercial, with Subversion, online issue management, and daily builds. * You must understand how to work with Ruby on Rails. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR REQUIREMENTS * Can configure and maintain secure Web application servers running on Linux * Experience with Apache, Lighttpd, MySQL, Postgres, Subversion * Has experience setting up build scripts and automated testing * Can do research into new systems and technologies We are seeking individual developers, not development companies.
