Ship market for buyers and sellers of vessels

A market place , directory, using smart search technology to help people find ships for sale, rent or contract. Logo design will be done by another party. And I would like site to be made in Joomla ## Deliverables [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] -------------------------------------------- This project is basically a commercial hub for groups that are selling ships, renting ships, hiring (chartering) ships or buying ships. ------------------------------------------- Ships are big business. When a company needs one, they are not always easy to find. The reason is that there are many different types of ships for unimaginable wide ranging purposes. Apart from this there are many factors which define a ship. How many beds it has, has much deck cpace, how long is it. Does it have cranes, how powerful are they, what kind of positioning system , manouverability, etc etc etc. So what one ship searcher will look for, is vastly different from another. One may look for a floating hotel, that can weather a storm, another maybe looking to move explosives or caustic chemicals. The key reason they are difficult to find, is there is no single place that really defines the searching process. I would like to develop a database that uses al lythe features of a good classifieds site, tied with a good dating site. Matching a ship to a potential buyer/charterer is not so different, from looking for a date. You need to make a good match. I would like to design a system that does the following. -------------------------------------- Seller ------------------------------------- To the seller The seller should be able to 1. add a ship, they should be able to put their commercial offer as they wish to describe 2. select a commercial option, options: various different standard commercial terms. They should be able to put their commercial offer as they wish to describe it 3. put availability in calender style (often someone may wish to put a vessel on the market for a window of opportunity in the future - in chartering/renting). Also, new build ships are usually registered commercially some months before they are finished building, so they can find a contract for when it sets sail for the first time 4. They should be able to put on a google map, or similar, the current location of the vessel. 5. They should be able to upload full specifications of their vessels, and other certificates, commercial documents (which may only be available to see by subscribers) 6. They can put pictures of the vessel, choosing one to be the main. 7. They can put specific contact details 8. The most important part will be the details they add about the ship. The categories I can get from some system I have. Will be basically -----Ships weights & dimensions -----Ships registry information -----Ships construction information -----Ships Machinery -----Ships Lifting/Towing equipment -----Ships storage information -----Ships navigational equipment -----Ships location information -----Ships accomodation -----Ships -----Dynamic positioning information -----Ships ownership information -----Sellers contact information I would like to make certain fields obligatory, the rest optional. Also in admin I will be able to determine which level of subscriber can see which fields ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To the buyer 1. Buyer will have very powerful set of filters, that will see instant ajax results, where he can flick through a series of headers, representing the above categories. ---Everytime he defines a paramenter the list of available ships is diminishing below - automatically ----He should be able to save his filter, and or cookies remember his paramers for the next search ----He should be able to monitor ships, receive notifications about their status, and notifications if any ships are posted that he should be interested in ------------------------------- Global map As a seperate section I would like the same filters at the top of the page, and below full map showing ships for chartering or purchasing. The filters will diminish the number of ships available. ------------------------------- The commercial aspect of this site shoul be that For seller ----free to create a profile, manage that profile and manage ship status information ---free to put ads, these ads will expire after a certain amount of time. if no activity is present ----chance to post premium ads for payment For buyer Can search for free, and can view certain info about ships, but for to see documentation, google map, location information, contact information and certain fields, he will have to pay monthly, yearly subscription. And search. ---------------------------------------------- The key to this site, will be very visualy attractive. Logo I will have designed by another service provider. I would like this to be based on joomla architecture so I can use full community section It will be high technology to make complex stuff simple. I do not want a user to be faced with multiple search filters without seeing results. Results must be immediate and dynamic. It's possible as wel that I will add additional sectino to be able to sell or look for cargo.
