Design Project The goal of this project is to design controllers using the design techniques discussed; to simulate closed loop systems; and to compare different controllers. The system to be controlled is modeled by the following transfer function: G(s)=1/(s(s+8)(s+12)) It is required that the closed loop system performs satisfactory. This means roughly that the steady state error due to the unit ramp input is less than 0.01; the damping ratio is 0.707 or the phase margin is 65o. 1. Design a PD controller using time-domain design method. 2. Design a PI controller using time-domain design method. 3. Design a PID controller using time-domain design method. 4. Design a Phase-lead controller using frequency-domain design method. 5. Design a Phase-lag controller using frequency-domain design method. 6. Simulate the closed loop systems with the above designed controllers and determine their performances. 7. Compare the above designed controllers and discuss their merits and drawbacks.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
