Hello, From what i analyzed based on your explanation, i can see that your shared hosting provider limits the mysql connections and queries. In my opinion , as a linux server administrator, we can install , configure and optimize your own Web Server and Mysql Database. It's not required to change your entire game architecture, just need a good VPS ( i can recommend you a good solution that i've been using for years ) that can handle your own web server and mysql server. 1) Probably not if your game is already in php? Saying this I would still recommend you using nodejs. 2) Thousands of request per second? per day? per year? If you are on a cloud solution this shouldn't really matter as they are pretty easy to scale. 3) Probably free, services like aws lamba give you 1 MILLION free request per month. Depending on how much you think people would use your game, I would probably be able to give you a better price / cost. 4) Again really depends on what you think the usage would be. Both would be similar. if you are thinking of using AWS, maybe consider DynamoDB over MongoDB
