Excel/VBA for the prototype or even the solution if it cuts the mustard, then anything from C# Python or R to provide the ongoing solution if required. 40,000 is nothing big even for n^2 - it is just amazing what you can do in Excel with intelligent design, just don't blow the stack with recursions. Hi, This is quiet interesting project to work as it has challenges to compute permutation for 40,000 stock. I can write program in C# .Net with console/windows application to find out permutations for 2 out of 40000 stocks by reading stocks from CSV file. I will be suited for this project as have done lot data manipulation with CSV file. Also I have written code for permutation and combination functionality for some of my projects. And the last project was to find out combinations for football team split these teams into two different timeslots. You can see this project in my profile. I will write code in a efficient way by considering the performance of code execution and the memory. I will able to complete this project in a neat manner. Looking forward to work with you. A significant part of my day-to-day responsibilities at my current job involves the automated reporting and analysis of large data sets including sales, inventory levels and inventory movements. All of my reports are currently generated with python (and SQL) with the option of exporting to csv (or to html or PDF) While the industry is different, my experience with analysis scripts of a similar scale will be valuable for this project. Welcome, I work as Python Developer. My everyday job is to implement software for storage clusters (with an failover feature). To keep the required performance i may use Cython, PyPy, Nuitka or even library written in assembly language (my machine allow me to make of use of AVX2 SIMD registers, for eg mutltiply 8 integers at once).
